Since 1 February,the Faculty of Transportation Technology has a new dean, Professor Ondřej Přibyl, and one of his first steps was the signing of an exclusive cooperation agreement between the faculty and the leading European university TU Berlin, DAI-Laboratory in the area of introducing autonomous mobility.

The cooperation agreement was officially signed on 1 February 2022 by the Dean of the Faculty of Transportation Technology, prof. Ing. Ondřej Přibyl, PhD. and the Head of DAI-Laboratory Prof. Dr.-Ing. Habil. Dr.h.c. Sahin Albayrak from Technische Universitat Berlin. The DAI-Laboratory focuses on the practical implementation of autonomous vehicles in smart cities.

TU Berlin ranks among the top European universities (ranked 159th in the QS Global World Ranking). It is therefore an execelent cooperation in the field of smart and autonomous mobility. Mutual cooperation will enable the involvement of Czech experts in the German research projects DIGINET-PS (www.diginet-ps.de) and BELNTELLI (www.be-intelli.com), including the possibility of implementing these results within the concept of Smart European (www.gatetoeurope.eu), of which the Faculty of Transportation Technology is one of the main researchers.

The Faculty of Transportation Technology has long focused on smart and autonomous mobility. It has been a successful investigator of the European project H2020 MAVEN (Managing Automated Vehicles Enhances Network) as well as other national activities related to autonomous vehicles. Experts of the Faculty of Transportation Technology have therefore established a number of other long-term partnerships with both European and American universities, which deal with this topic and rank among the leading professional research institutes in this field.
