Czech Technical University in Prague awarded its best students with the Stanislav Hanzl Prize on the occasion of the International Student Day on 17 November. The award was presented on 23 November 2021 in the Bethlehem Chapel during the gala concert of the Czech Academy of Engineering by Rector of Czech Technical University in Prague, doc. RNDr. Vojtěch Petráček, CSc., and doc. Ing. Antonín Pokorný, CSc., Chairman of the Board of the CTU Stanislav Hanzl Endowment Fund.

In accordance with the legacy of the Rector Emeritus, Professor Stanislav Hanzl, the support of the Endowment Fund is directed in particular towards the modernization of studies and improving their compatibility with studies at European technical universities, increasing student mobility and internationalization of studies. This year, nine CTU students received the prize for outstanding results in their studies and for scientific, professional and other significant activities.

The Stanislav Hanzl Endowment Fund was established in 1997 in honor of the first rector of CTU in Prague after November 1989, Prof. Ing. Stanislav Hanzl, CSc. Professor Hanzl served as Rector until his death in June 1996. The Fund receives funding in the form of grants, donations and contributions from cooperating organizations, companies, professional associations and individuals, especially former students - graduates of the faculties of CTU in Prague. "The aim of the endowment fund is to support studies and students of study programs accredited at the faculties and university institutes of CTU in Prague," says doc. Ing. Antonín Pokorný, CSc., Rector Emeritus of CTU and Chairman of the Board of the Endowment Fund. 

This year the following students received the award:

Bc. Adam Babuljak from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Bc. Jan Šmaus from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Vojtěch Michal from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Ing. Romana Kvasničková from the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering, Ing. arch. Markéta Gebrian from the Faculty of Architecture, Ing. Přemysl Toman from the Faculty of Transport, Bc. Branislav Gašpar from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Ing. Marek Suchánek from the Faculty of Information Technology and Bc. Hynek Salák from the Masaryk Institute of Higher Studies.
