The team of the University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings of the Czech Technical University put into operation the S.A.W.E.R. installed in the Czech national pavilion at the EXPO 2020 exhibition center. The process of its technical integration and launch was completed a month before the opening of the world exhibition gates to the public.

Technology S.A.W.E.R. is an indispensable part of the Czech exposition, the central theme of which is obtaining water from the air and its use for the cultivation of dry desert. Researchers from CTU UCEEB have connected the entire system with the technical equipment of the pavilion, which is currently being completed.

The system already produces water for subsurface watering of the garden, and the first results from the operation show that it can supply more than 800 liters of water per day in the summer. In addition, it will preheat the water with waste heat when the kitchen is needed.

In addition to S.A.W.E.R. and MAGDA has UCEEB patented another prototype device called the "Field Bottle", which obtains water from the desert air and is transferable to the user's body. The field bottle produces up to 2.5 liters of water per day (depending on climatic conditions). Experts are now working on the further development of the device.
