A new student television channel, the TV9P, was launched in the autumn of 2020, broadcasting for CTU students and employees. It was an idea of rector doc. Vojtěch Petráček, who was looking for a way to stay in touch and communicate with students as they cannot attend university and be in personal contact.

The original intention was to occasionally broadcast concerts directly from the rector's office on the 9th floor (hence the name TV9P) of the CTU-CIIRC building in Dejvice, but the enthusiasm of the staff and performers moved the whole project much further. There are reports from individual faculties, interesting news from events at the university, the awarding of the rector's awards, the staff travels in the field to get interesting reports, and each broadcast closes with a concert by one of the Czech music groups. Since its inception, performers such as The Atavists, Vanua2, Padlock, Phil Shoenfelt and Southern Cross, Vasil's Shroud, Muff, Flights Out and others have performed. It is yet another opportunity where musicians can perform publicly during these times.

Another of the unique concerts will be on air as early as the end of April, namely the MIG21 group broadcasting directly from the aeronautics lab test room of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University at the airport in Hradec Králové. The filming plan is set to at least until the end of 2021 and it will also include a summer scene on the roofs of the faculties and on the Dejvice Campus.

The technical production of the broadcast is provided by AVC Silicon Hill of the CTU Student Union, the great musical score comes from one of the best Czech sound engineers Jiří Kulich Novotný, sound is provided by Jan Špalek, produced by Maya Machová, dramaturgy, directing and main production by Jiřina Šimková.

You can currently tune in to TV9P on YouTube or Facebook. "We thank our audience for their growing support and we are moving towards the fact that in the future, TV9P can be counted on as part of the backup broadcast channel for Prague 6," adds Rector Vojtěch Petráček.
