New specializations for bachelor program students are provided by the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT CTU). In addition to the recently modernized master's program with 9 specializations, the faculty now also offers 10 bachelor's specializations in Czech and English. Studying at FIT thus reflects current trends, IT requirements and topics of modern informatics. The teaching of such specializations as artificial intelligence, management informatics or computer security is a continuation of the faculty's efforts for continuous modernization, which will enable students a top-level education.

The reason for updating and modernizing study specializations was both the amendment to the Act on Higher Education Institutions and the need to offer students an education that equips them with knowledge across the entire IT spectrum. The faculty created new specializations in accordance with the latest trends in the world of information technology.

"Information technology is a sector that is experiencing progress almost daily. Therefore, our faculty keeps pace with this trend and offers students an understanding of such areas as the Internet of Things, virtualization, big data, computer security and artificial intelligence, "says Ing. Zdeněk Muzikár, CSc., Vice-Dean for Study and Pedagogical Activities at FIT, and adds: "Currently, informatics sets the life and economic rhythm of a civilized society, and it is therefore necessary to educate experts on fundamental and strategic IT topics.

The basis for the first year of bachelor's study are common courses that equip students with the necessary IT knowledge. By mastering the first year, students will gain a balanced mix of both theoretical and technological foundations of informatics into their professional profile. Students will be prepared in the next years to complete the subjects of individual specializations, which have a clearly defined profile and are focused on current topics with which the faculty has experience, a research base, technological infrastructure and laboratories.

The faculty also recently accredited the master's program in Informatics. With this step, she completed the modernization and transformation of this study program. The aim of this restructuring was to acquaint students at an advanced engineering level with the main areas of modern informatics. Graduates will gain in the common basis of subjects professional knowledge from selected parts of mathematics, complexity theory or algorithmization.

In addition to obtaining academic titles of Bc. or Ing. , the faculty also offers a doctoral program or a Lifelong Learning program, in which everyone can apply, regardless of age, knowledge, profession or previous education. Those interested can find everything about the studio's offer here
