On Wednesday, 7 March, another meeting of CTU graduates - Alumni took place. Members of the Mensa club of the Czech Republic, prof. Ing. Tomáš Čechák, CSc., and doc. Ing. Tomáš Trojka, Ph.D. attended the event as it included a lacture on exploration of the Saint Maur's Relic. This national cultural monument was completely renovated in 2002 and the public can see it at the chateau in Bečov nad Teplou.

The lecture informed participants about exploring historical objects using X-ray fluorescence analysis. This method is based on measurement of characteristic radiation in the material and detection of particular element present in the irradiated sample. The aim of the analysis of the study of monuments and art objects is to contribute to learning about the origin, authenticity or eventual production technologies of the studied object, based on the composition of the material.
