The first Czech medal at the 28th World Winter Universiade in Almaty, Kazakhstan, was taken by ski jumper Marta Křepelková, student of the cybernetics and robotics course at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

Member of the Harrachov club held the medal positions already after the first round in which she had made an excellent 93 meters jump. She then added 90.5 meters in the second round and fought for a medal. , She gained 198.8 points in the overall ranking, taking the 3rd place besides the winning Japanese athletes Iwasao and Kobayashi.
