Students of both universities who participate in student exchange programs for many years, were rewarded on the RWTH Aachen grounds at the SuperC building on 3 July.
They were awarded a plaque to mark the twenty-year collaboration, which was initiated by Prof. Vladimir Blažek of RWTH Aachen and prof. Jiří Tůma of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The event was attended by delegations of academics and students from both universities and members of the Aachen-Prag e.V. cultural association, headed by Mrs. Věra Blažková. Celebration was held under the patronage of the Rector of the Czech Technical University in Prague, prof. Petr Konvalinka and Rector of RWTH Aachen, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ernst M. Schmachtenberg.
After the ceremony, also comemorating the 700th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Charles IV., agreement on cooperation between civil engineering faculties of both universities was signed.
