Christmas tree was created by students of the Faculty of Architecture in collaboration with the Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTU Institute of Intermedia and students of primary, secondary and grammar school. The five meter PETree was officially lit on 1 December in front of the National Technical Library, which will be on display until 26 December.
PETree was made of tin mesh, cables and 12,000 PET bottles, which constitute its supporting layer and represent the amount of PET bottles produced within several minutes in the Czech Republic. Students want this installation to highlight the collection and recycaltion of plastic waste.
The christmas tree was created under the leadership of the Achten - Nováková experimental studio at the Faculty of Architecture
