The rankings have been published by The Times Higher Education since 2010 and are among the three most respected global rankings of universities and higher education institutions. This year, more than 2,800 universities from 108 countries were ranked.
The World University Rankings focuses on the university's ranking in several areas, including teaching quality, science and research, citation rate, international environment of the university and cooperation with industry. The university's scientific performance, including citations, and teaching are the most important factors in the overall ranking. The evaluation also includes the results of reputation surveys, in which academics from around the world comment on excellence in science and research and the quality of teaching.
CTU in Prague was ranked 1,001st to 1,200th in this year's global ranking. The best position is in the category "International Outlook", where it is again among the 29% of the best universities in the world, and in the category "Teaching", where it is among the top third of the world's universities. Thanks to these results, CTU is ranked 4th in the Czech Republic, placing it among the best technical universities in Central Europe.
In three other indicators, CTU in Prague maintains its position with the same ranking as last year. Despite the increase in the number of ranked universities in recent years, CTU still maintains its global position and improves its ranking among Czech universities. This success reflects the high quality of our study programmes, strong international cooperation and innovative approach in science and research.
CTU in Prague maintains its strongest position in Computer Science, where it is among the top five hundred universities in the world out of a total of 2857 universities evaluated. In other fields such as physical sciences, CTU Prague is trending upwards in the top third of all ranked universities, followed immediately by fields such as energy and medicine.
"This success is a testament to the tireless work of our academics and students. We are determined to continue to raise the level of our study programmes and strengthen our position not only in the Czech Republic", says the Rector of CTU in Prague doc. RNDr. Vojtěch Petráček, CSc.
We thank all our partners, students and staff for their contribution to this success.
