This September (9-13 September), the first micro-certificate course entitled "Applied Artificial Intelligence for Technical Innovation" will take place in Prague and Munich. The course, which is part of lifelong learning programme at CTU, has been created thanks to a unique collaboration between the EuroTeQ Alliance and the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and two partners from industry - Valeo and the German expert on AI applications in industry AppliedAI.

With the dynamic development of the labour market and rapid changes in technology, the education of university graduates is also undergoing fundamental changes. "Traditional forms of lifelong learning no longer hold up. To ensure that professionals in companies and their managers do not lose track of current trends, we have prepared the first course in artificial intelligence. After graduation, they will receive a modern micro-certificate, which is a newly recognized educational format in all EU countries. This is the first flagship in the field of inter-university cooperation between CTU and TUM," says Vladimír Janíček from the Centre for lifelong learning programme at CTU in Prague. 

"The course is focused not only on providing up-to-date information on the state of AI development and the possibility of its deployment in industry, but also on the legal framework for the use of AI after the EU regulation on Artificial Intelligence came into force," says the project's guarantor Prof. Tomáš Svoboda from the Department of Cybernetics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU in Prague. He will be joined by other top researchers from the CTU Faculty of Science and its Centre for Artificial Intelligence.

The intensive five-day course for 20 participants will bring together industry specialists and industrial scientists with academics from leading technical universities in Europe. The first two days of the course will take place in Prague, while the next programme will take place in Munich, where participants will focus on industrial applications to support technical innovation.  "In addition, they will have time set aside for an exchange of ideas. They will then be able to use their newly acquired knowledge directly in practice", says Silvia Hagn, Team Lead Certificate & Customized Programs from the Technical University of Munich.

The course design includes the involvement of industrial partners. In the Czech part it will be Valeo, a company that is a key player in the Czech automotive industry not only in production but also in research. Valeo is a highly innovative company that works with its customers to transform mobility. "Our company is successfully using AI in product development, especially system validation. Here, AI saves us a lot of time and costs. The course is an opportunity for us to debate with academic partners from CTU and TUM and holders of top research know-how," says Juraj Prstek, Digital Transformation Manager at Valeo.
