"Our current students remember well how getting to know their future university (faculty) first-hand played a big role in their decision to choose further studies", says PaedDr. Lenka Kubešová Zápotocká from the PR team of CTU Faculty of Transportation Sciences.
The programme starts at 9.00 with short lectures on the study programmes and specialisations that can be studied at the faculty. Visitors will thus learn that Faculty of Transportation Sciences covers the entire spectrum of transport with its study programmes and specialisations. It trains top professionals in the fields of transport, smart cities, logistics, aviation and transport systems. At the end of the lectures, high school students can look forward to prizes at the Raffle for a Future Transportation Engineer .
After the lectures, there will be stands of individual departments and departments with interesting interactive exhibits and demonstrations of interesting projects. Applicants will get all the necessary information about the admission procedure from colleagues from the study department. At the main InfoPoint, current students will answer any questions about their studies and subsequent employment.
From here, groups will also leave for guided tours of the building and laboratories, where the guides will again be students of the faculty.
Interested visitors will have a look into the faculty's premises, top laboratories and specialised workplaces where the future of transport is being created. These include, for example, the Smart Cities Laboratory or the Mobile Laboratory for Transport Analysis. Rail fans will enjoy a visit to the Transportation Hall with its model railway track and a display of railway technology. Aviation enthusiasts will definitely enjoy the ATC simulator (air traffic control simulation), drone demonstration, A-320 and B-737 flight simulator. For motorcycle fans, there will be a presentation of the student racing team of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences - CTU Lions and demonstrations of their racing motorcycles. There will also be vehicle simulators and much more to try out.
In the chill out zone, you will be able to chat with current students over coffee, who will be ready to answer any questions you may have about studying and student life at the faculty. The Open Doors Day could not take place without students from the eFDrive student club, which will also be present at the event. Visitors will learn about what events the club holds, how to join the club, and most importantly, get information about the UZEL networking event, one of the club's biggest and most popular events.
Visitors have a lot to look forward to, as they will get to see the faculty under the hood and experience Prague's Dopravka in person.
