These awards are presented on 11 November, the anniversary of Jan Opletal's death. They are a symbolic expression of our common heritage and serve as an inspiration for future generations to appreciate the values of democracy and human rights and to actively seek to protect and strengthen them in society. SK RVŠ has been awarding the prize since 2004, since last year newly together with Thank that We Can movement.
