Svatopluk Vojíř and his Vandrkin are screening films that you may not have seen yet - not will not have the opportunity to see them in big cinemas. In addition to great films by director Jim Jarmusch, you can also see Desperado, Once upon a time in Hollywood and Zátopek at the Bethlehem Biograph.
All genres of music alternate on the music scene and thanks to the great acoustics and uniqueness of the whole space, visitors will enjoy a truly unforgettable evening. In July, Kybabu and the Václav Koubek Trio played. Other performances include Beata Hlavenková and her vocalists, young jazzmen Acoustic Needles, Muff, Lanugo, Wyfe and children from the hLasky choir, My3.avi and Marta Kloučková with David Dorůžka.
"Every university should fulfil an educational, research and scientific role, but also a social role. At the CTU, the programmes at the Bethlehem Chapel and its summer stage contribute to this, while in the summer period it is logically somewhat lighter programme, serving mainly for the pleasant meeting of our students outside the semester classes. This year's second edition proved to be a step in the right direction," said Vojtěch Petráček, Rector of the CTU.
Thursdays are devoted to music evenings and every second Tuesday to films.
The main organizer is the Czech Technical University in Prague, as the owner of these spaces, while Jiřina Šimková takes care of the dramaturgy of the (not only) summer scene.
The aim is to bring students in particular to this beautiful cultural space, which is why the next programme and discounted admission even outside the summer season will be aimed at them.
