There is a huge demand for CTU graduates of computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering on the labour market. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEL) meet companies by organising Career Days. The two-day event, which will include an accompanying professional programme, will take place at the premises of both faculties in Dejvice on 20 and 21 April 2022.

The aim of the FME and FEL Career Days is to enable direct contact of nearly five and a half thousand students of both faculties with employers of various sizes, ranging from giants of Czech industry to small progressive start-ups.

"I don't know anyone who hasn't found a job after graduating from FEL, and this is confirmed by the statistics and surveys we organise on this subject. Nevertheless, we consider it necessary to develop a long-term relationship with companies and mediate their contact with our students. We believe that students will use this opportunity not only to get an idea of the opportunities that are offered to them on the labour market, but also to be inspired professionally and to be able to adapt their further development accordingly, including, for example, the topics of their theses," said Prof. Petr Páta, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

According to Prof. Petr Páta, the demand for FEL graduates in the field of computer science and electrical engineering is based on their quality and specialisation in the areas of technological trends that will shape the future of the entire society. Whether it is telecommunication networks and alternative energy sources, or artificial intelligence and bioinformatics, cybersecurity or space technologies - all these future phenomena can be studied at FEL. Both the field of electrical engineering and, more recently, the field of computer science at CTU is ranked as the best in the Czech Republic in the prestigious international QS Ranking.

"FME guarantees employment for its graduates, and what's more, FME graduates can choose from a range of job offers. Meeting companies is important for both students and faculty. For students, it means more time during their studies to get to know and network with companies, and it allows companies to responsibly search for and prepare their future employees in the long term. The faculty acquires information about the needs of companies and space to offer its research and innovation potential," said Prof. Michael Valášek, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the CTU in Prague.

Since all industrial production is based on machines, maintaining its global competitiveness in the Czech Republic requires the competence of graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. All current technological trends are applied in their training. Thus, the studies at the CTU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering include informatics, digitalisation, artificial intelligence applied in machines, mechatronics, robotics, Industry 4.0 and emerging technologies from space research, said Prof. Michael Valášek.

The Career Days of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of CTU will also include an accompanying programme in which companies will be able to address students through their professional topics in presentations or workshops.
