The MIG 21 will have a unique concert on the CTU student TV, the TV9P on Friday, 30 April at 7 pm. The podium was set in the aviation test room of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the airport in Hradec Králové, directly in front of the unique GE Catalyst turboprop engine, which was developed within the collaborative research cooperation of GE Aviation Czech and CTU in Prague.

How many times in your life do you have a chance to find yourself in the former hangar of the MIG 21 fighter jet? Most of us never, but one such loose cannon - the MIG 21 band - found a perfect spot for a gig in this air test room of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the airport in Hradec Králové, directly in front of the unique turboprop engine GE Catalyst, which was developed within the collaborative research collaboration GE Aviation Czech and CTU.

The new GE Catalyst turboprop engine is the first completely newly developed turboprop engine in more than 30 years. Catalyst includes a number of new technologies first used in turboprop engines, but also aircraft engines in general. Read about the new GE Catalyst turboprop engine here

You can find out more in the interviews of Tomáš Fröde with the CTU rector doc. Vojtěch Petráček and the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering prof. Michael Valášek on the TV9P student TV. At the same time, you can look into this unique space and get to know this unique project together with the band MIG 21, which premiered on YouTube and Facebook.

The new student television TV9P was established in the autumn of 2020 and broadcasts for students and employees of the Czech Technical University. The idea came from the rector doc. Vojtěch Petráček, who was looking for a way to stay in touch and communicate with students at a time when they could not attend university and be in personal contact.

The technical production of the broadcast is provided by AVC Silicon Hill of the CTU Student Union, the great sound comes from one of the best Czech sound engineers Jiří Kulich Novotný, spoken word is provided by Jan Špalek, produced by Maya Machová, dramaturgy, directing and main production by Jiřina Šimková.
