The Techsauce Global Summit connects technology companies, start-ups, investors and other key players in the global innovation ecosystem with the rapidly growing technology and innovation market of the ASEAN region. This year’s event, which took place from 26 to 28 August in Bangkok, attracted more than 20,000 attendees and featured over 350 exhibition stands showcasing technologies and innovations from around the world.
The Techsauce Innovation Award recognises the most outstanding innovations presented at the summit, emphasising their originality, technical sophistication and potential impact. This year’s winners include not only young technology firms but also established international companies, such as Canada’s SOTI and South Korea’s MarkAny.
Tonagena presented its platform for precise and controlled electroporation in Bangkok, along with its TonaPulse®️ and TonaWell products, which have already received CE certification. The electroporation platform has its roots in long-term research into the interactions of electromagnetic fields with biological tissues and their potential applications in biomedicine. Research in this field is being carried out by the Bio-Electromagnetism team at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, led by brothers and professors Jan and David Vrbová. Tonagena subsequently built on these findings and is now further developing the electroporation platform, using it as a basis to create new technological solutions and know-how. Electroporation is used, for example, in genetic transfection, research into cancer therapies and the development of pulsed ablation methods.
The electroporation system was presented at Techsauce by Assoc. Prof. Ondřej Fišer, Ph.D., and Marek Novák, Ph.D., who are leading its development at Tonagen. In Bangkok, they showcased the company’s current products as well as further possibilities for the platform’s development and its application in biomedical research.

Tonagena’s participation formed part of the Czech innovation mission to Thailand, which was supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Prague, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok and the CzechInvest agency. The mission also offered Czech technology companies the opportunity to showcase their solutions on the international stage and to establish contacts with investors, research institutions and potential partners in Thailand and the wider South-East Asian region.
