The ceremony was also attended by the Rector of CTU, Prof. Michal Pěchouček, and a number of important foreign guests and project partners, which underlines the strategic importance of this partnership. Professor Poki Chen, who brought the contract and handed it over for signing, is a globally recognized authority in the field of integrated circuit design.

The extension of the memorandum brings significant benefits both for both universities involved and, above all, for the students themselves:
For students: The opportunity to obtain a diploma from CTU and the prestigious Asian university NTUST during one study period. Graduates will gain invaluable international experience, improve their language and intercultural skills, and rapidly increase their attractiveness on the global job market, especially in high-tech sectors.
For universities: Deepening academic prestige, sharing know-how, and strengthening the position of FEE CTU as a key European hub for cooperation with Asian technology leaders. Cooperation with experts such as Prof. Chen, in addition to organizing summer schools or full semester courses, it directly strengthens the quality of teaching and research in the field of semiconductors.
What is a Double Degree?
A study program in which a student spends part of his studies at the home faculty and part at a partner university abroad. Upon successful completion, he will receive a university degree from both institutions.
From ceremony to real research
The program is far from over with the signing of the memorandum. The ceremony was immediately followed by a professional workshop dedicated to the projects of the Joint Research Center (JRC) and the Advanced Chip Design Research Center (ACDRC), which are being implemented at CTU in cooperation with Taiwanese partners.
This workshop clearly demonstrated that the partnership between FEL and NTUST does not remain only on paper, but generates cutting-edge applied research in the field of microelectronics and chip technologies, in which students are directly involved.
