“Taiwanese universities, research organizations and businesses are among the most important partners of CTU, not only in the wider target region of East Asia, but also within our overall global strategy. As part of the delegation of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Miloš Vystrčil, we had a great opportunity to consolidate these partnerships and begin discussions on expanding cooperation not only within joint research projects, but also exchange stays, and we noted significant interest in the development of double/dual-degrees, primarily at the undergraduate level,” says Vice-Rector Ladislav Krištoufek and adds:
“We managed to use the high-speed train network and outside of Taipei, where we visited NTU, NTUST (Taiwan Tech) and NTUT (Taipei Tech) at the university management level, we also visited our university partners in Hsinchu (NTHU) and Tainan (NCKU). In Hsinchu, I also met with the director of the TSRI semiconductor research center, which is part of the National Center for Applied Research NIAR. At the highest level, we also met with Ministry of Science and Research NSTC, including the Minister himself and the chairwoman of the local grant agency.”
Shortly afterwards, CTU was reciprocally visited by a delegation of Taiwanese academics, who were received by the Rector Prof. Michal Pěchouček and his team.
“Taiwan remains a key partner for us and, together with Singapore and South Korea, will continue to form an important branch of our strategic partnerships,” concludes Vice-Rector Krištoufek.
