CTU has top-notch laboratories, a functioning network of industrial partners and an increasingly strong presence in international consortia. One of the most important strategic opportunities of the next decade is mainly its membership in EuroTeQ Engineering University and entry into EuroTech Universities in 2027, together with the merger of both alliances into one strategic entity. This strategic initiative, which involves major technical universities on the old continent, underlines the growing importance of the international dimension of education.
CTU's goal is to reach the top hundred best technical universities in the world within ten years. This can be achieved through better scientific results, building a stronger academic reputation and deepening cooperation with industry and foreign partners. By educating experts, research that will bring real impacts, technology transfer, cooperation with industry and public administration, Prague Technology can contribute to the competitiveness and innovation capacity of the Czech Republic and the entire Central European region.
CTU Rector Prof. Michal Pěchouček and his team at the head of the university are also striving to obtain significant financial resources and ensure conditions that will lead to achieving long-term economic independence and future growth. The CTU 2026+ strategy assumes that each next generation of CTU should be more successful than the previous generation.

The strategic priorities contained in this plan will be specified annually in measurable goals and measures in the Strategic Plan Implementation Plan. The fulfillment of these goals will be regularly evaluated in the annual reports on CTU activities and serve as the basis for any possible update of the strategic direction. The fulfillment of this plan is the joint responsibility of everyone who makes up CTU.
The Academic Senate also approved the university's budget for 2026
The approval of both key documents represents a very important milestone for the future direction of CTU and confirms the common agreement of the academic self-government and the university management on the strategic goals of the institution. While the CTU Strategic Plan 2026+ defines the long-term vision of the university, the budget for 2026 creates the prerequisites for its stable functioning and further development, support for education, science and research, and strategic investments.
