Our Rector, Professor Michal Pěchouček, together with Professor Tiit Land, Rector of the Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), represented both EuroTech and EuroTeQ University Alliance.
The meeting focused on the strategic role of the European Universities initiative in completing the European Education Area, modernising higher education systems, and strengthening Europe’s competitiveness through innovation and knowledge exchange. Key topics included the development of a European Degree, talent attraction and retention, and the contribution of university alliances to the European Fifth Freedom of the EU Single Market focused on research, knowledge, and innovation.
High-level discussions featured contributions from Roxana Mînzatu, Commission Executive Vice-President, Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen, Director-General for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, and Ministers and Members of the European Parliament. Participants exchanged views on the achievements and future opportunities of the alliances, reaffirming the importance of cross-border collaboration in shaping the future of European higher education.
