The Center for Information and Counseling Services (CIPS) is celebrating twenty years of operation at CTU. Its establishment was initiated by the students themselves and it has gradually become the leader of university counseling centers in the Czech Republic. In total, around four thousand students will use its services. The current management of CTU in Prague wants to continue the original idea of significant involvement of the student community in activities that contribute to the mental and physical well-being of its members. For this reason, it has initiated a new cooperation with representatives of student organizations.

“I am very glad that we agreed with the President of the CTU Student Union, Karel D. Kopecký, on the need to provide students at the Prague Technical University with the widest possible range of accompanying activities important for personal development. Whether it is yoga courses or art and music workshops, for example,” says Anna Kučerová, Vice-Rector for Studies and Education at CTU.

“In my opinion, CIPS provides services that are extremely valuable for CTU students. Studying at a university is not only about the subject matter, but also about personal and professional development. That is why I am very glad that the Vice-Rector approached the CTU Student Union with the offer of this cooperation. Supporting the personal and professional growth of CTU students is one of the main missions of our student organization. I believe that by working together, we will be able to improve the aforementioned services even more compared to the past,” predicts Karl D. Kopecký, President of the CTU Student Union.

At the moment, both parties are coordinating the format in which the specific cooperation between the university management and students will take place. The goal is to ensure as soon as possible a sufficient selection of activities, which have been experiencing a slight decline in recent weeks due to the revision of the current system. The activities of counseling services at CTU, whether psychological or socio-legal and others, remain in their original scope.
