The CTU Faculty of Information Technology will host the traditional Summer IT School for high school students, organized together with the Czechitas from 3 to 7 August. The main goal is to attract more girls to study computer science. The summer school is intended for those girls who are interested in technology, but it is not conditioned by the initial IT knowledge.

As part of the Summer School IT program, girls take a look at many areas of computer science and find that IT is not just about boring sitting at a computer. During the weekly program, they will learn the basics of programming (Arduino, CSS, JavaScript, HTML), robotics and computer graphics. After intensive four days of education, the participants are faced with a challenge in a student hackathon competition, for which they will work on their own project. As part of the program, the girls will also visit the laboratories of the Faculty of Information Technology. The whole program will culminate in a gala evening on the 10th floor of the CTU Rectorate building, where participants will present their final theses.

The IT Summer School is conceived as a weekly camp with a fixed program from 8.00 to 20.00. The main program takes place at the Czech Technical University in Prague. The evening program is mostly intended for excursions in companies.
