This year, CTU will be present at the Science Fair, the largest domestic popular science event organized by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The exhibition titled "CTU: The World of Science and Technology" will offer visitors interactive experiences, experiments, and modern technologies across top technical fields.
One of the main attractions is a hydraulic model of the boating slalom course from the Faculty of Civil Engineering. On it, visitors can design their own route and watch how the flow of water and the difficulty of individual sections change due to the effect of magnetic obstacles.
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will present the ExoMy robotic vehicle, which demonstrates autonomous movement in open space using computer vision.
In the part of the exhibition prepared by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, visitors will be able to try the EduGems board escape game, learn the basics of soldering, and get acquainted with the MARV robot and the Brian robotic building kit.
In addition, they will be able to become a nuclear operator for a moment and, under the guidance of experts from the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering, control a simulated fission reaction or try building their own reactor model.
The offer also includes cutting-edge laser technologies. A real gas laser vacuum will be on display and it will also be possible to test your accuracy in a dynamic laser challenge.
Colleagues from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering will offer wireless heart rate measurement or information about mobile phone radiation and, with the help of VR glasses, will allow interested parties to look into the anatomy of the human body.
In cooperation with experts from the Faculty of Information Technology, fair participants will try programming mini Ozobot robots using color codes and can also look forward to a sweet reward from artificial intelligence. In addition, games created by CTU students and access to virtual reality will be available.
In the Financial Arcades, entrepreneurship enthusiasts will find the opportunity to try out the simulated management of their own start-up. Students from the Masaryk Institute of Higher Studies will help them.
Of course, there will be no shortage of AI either. Who is responsible for the decisions made by artificial intelligence algorithms? The participants of the panel debate, to which the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of the Czech Technical University, Prof. Tomáš Svoboda, has also accepted an invitation, will seek answers. The debate, aptly titled The World Believes in AI, will take place as part of the accompanying program of the fair on Friday, June 5th from 12:15 pm in the Kepler Hall.
The 10th anniversary year of the fair will take place this year from June 4th to 6th at the PVA EXPO Prague exhibition center in Letňany. Admission is free.
