The Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies at the Czech Technical University in Prague is organizing the fifth annual Automotive Day, which will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the area in front of the National Library of Technology in Dejvice. This popular outdoor exhibition, focused on the present and future of mobility, attracts hundreds of students, experts, and the general public every year.
What began as Hyundai Day in 2022 has grown over the past few years into a respected mobility showcase connecting the academic community with the automotive industry.
Automotive Day offers a unique opportunity to experience modern mobility firsthand—whether visitors are considering studying technical fields, looking for a new car, interested in technology, or drawn to design and innovation. In addition to the exhibition area, test drives are traditionally a major draw, allowing for a direct comparison of different types of powertrains and models.
“This year marks the fifth edition of Automotive Day, and we are delighted that our collaboration with automakers has continued to grow over the long term. Today, companies are not just exhibitors—they are increasingly getting involved in teaching, carrying out projects with students, organizing field trips to their plants, or sending their experts to give lectures,” says Ing. Oldřich Bronec from the Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies at CTU. “This year, in addition to the traditional question of the weather, we are also eagerly awaiting the completion of the renovation of the outdoor areas in front of the National Library of Technology. But we believe that everything will go according to plan.”
A wide range of brands across the automotive industry will participate in Automotive Day 2026—Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Hyundai, Jeep, KIA, Leapmotor, Lexus, MG, Opel, Peugeot, Subaru, Suzuki, Škoda, Toyota, and Volkswagen. Those interested in trucks can once again look forward to Tatra from Kopřivnice.
This year’s edition brings several notable new features. The compact Microlino electric vehicle with a retro design will be unveiled for the first time. Porsche Engineering, a subsidiary of Porsche responsible for developing cutting-edge automotive technologies, is also joining for the first time. It will offer visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the development of modern vehicles and will exhibit the Porsche Taycan electric model. The Alpine brand will also make its debut at the event with the A290—the first all-electric hot hatch from this French icon.
Among the specific exhibits, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 and its sporty version, the IONIQ 6 N, with up to 650 horsepower, will be particularly noteworthy. Kia will showcase its new EV5 and EV3 electric models, as well as the PV5 commercial vehicle, which was named International Van of the Year 2026. Toyota will offer the new generations of the bZ4X and C-HR+ models and allow visitors to test drive them.
Citroën will showcase the new C5 Aircross SUV alongside the electric C3 and C3 Aircross models. Peugeot will present, among other things, the new 308 SW, the 408 fastback, the 3008 hybrid SUV, and the 5008 electric SUV. Peugeot is also reflected in the visual identity of this year’s event—the photograph used in the campaign was created earlier as part of the Capture Allure project, in which students worked with the brand’s vehicles. The author is MÚVS student František Horký.
Volkswagen will showcase electric vehicle models, including the ID.7 Tourer with a range of up to 700 km and the ID.4 GTX SUV. The technology section will be complemented by Valeo, which will introduce visitors to assisted and autonomous driving systems—from sensors to control units that evaluate road conditions in real time.
The program will also feature a demonstration of the CTU student electric formula car, which exemplifies the direct link between technical education, practical application, and innovation.
Automotive Day is open to the public and admission is free. The event is held under the patronage of the new CTU Rector, Prof. Michal Pěchouček, and the Mayor of Prague 6, Jakub Stárek.
