The Czech Technical University in Prague will present itself at the International Engineering Fair in Brno from 3 to 7 October. Faculty of Engineering will represent the university in particular, as it will present the best of its field. It will seek to attract not only professionals, but also other participants of the fair. CTU exposition will be located at Pavilion Z in the stand 92, opened on 3 to 6 October from 9.00 to 18.00; and on 7 October from 9.00 to 16.00.

Visitors can look forward to FESTKA road bike, exceptional for its low weight, attractive design, and options to customize the design following customer wishes. In collaboration with Festka Compotech Plus spol. s r. o. company, experimental analysis of the bicycle frame are performed, aimed at optimizing the carbon frame, using a highly-modular carbon fiber.

We will also introduce the WAVE micro-power plant, a prototype of combined heat and power generation device, operating on the principle of organic Rankine cycle. The device is designed to burn wood pellets but replacing the combustion section allows use of many other types of fuel. The smallest prototype biomass power plant in the world was created at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and is further developed in cooperation with the CTU University Center of Energy-Efficient Buildings.

Another exhibit will be the two-seat ultralight UL-39 ALBI aircraft with innovative drive, formed by a high-speed motorcycle engine driving a low-pressure fan. It is the first and so far the only carbon prepreg airplane manufactured in the Czech Republic using autoclave technology. The aircraft is meant to offer the feeling of flying jet aircraft to general public. In the future, it could serve for basic training of jet aircraft military pilots.

The fair is one of the most notable engineering fairs in Central Europe. Each year, approximately 80.000 visitors come through its gates.
