Czech scientific teams have succeeded with eight projects in the European-Korean QuantERA initiative to support quantum technologies and will receive grants totaling over 40 million crowns. Half of the projects are funded by the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
For example, in the ICON project, scientists will develop a hollow-core optical fiber infrastructure for more efficient quantum transmission between multiple users at once (in collaboration with researchers from Vienna and Southampton), and in the EXCEL-QKD project, they will propose a new concept for a robust quantum network for secure sharing of encryption keys.
