The center brings together dozens of partners from academia, business, and the public sector and focuses on rapid verification and implementation of technologies into practice. The emphasis is placed on digital twins, autonomous systems, and advanced data analytics, among other things.
In addition to technological development, NCUI also aims to contribute to the creation of public policies in the field of AI, including issues of security, data management, and protection of critical infrastructure.
The project thus fits into a broader effort to systematically develop capacities in the field of artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic.
“It is crucial for us that the results do not remain just on paper. We want to create solutions that will actually be used in practice and that will stand up to international competition,” says the project’s principal investigator, Assoc. Prof. Přemysl Šůcha, Head of the Industrial Informatics Department at CTU.
“The direct integration of companies into joint research is essential for achieving these goals. It is not just about cooperation, but about the joint development of solutions for specific application scenarios,” adds Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Kroupa from the Department of Computer Science at CTU, deputy principal investigator of NCUI.
